Our Logo

Our actual logo is the result of numerous years of intensive design and development. When looking back at our first logo, from 1934, and the evolution line - we see that the whalekillers-logo has changed hand-in-hand with the technological evolution. First drawn by hand, it was digitalized in the -80's. Later on, the circle was removed, in an attempt to simplify the logo. Also the WKWFF (We Kill Whales For Fun) was removed because many people became confused about it's meaning.

Our name started out as Whalekillers, but in the hip-hop era of the late 80's, was changed to "Whalekillaz" to be more ine touch with the Yo-Hip-Hop attidude. In the mid -90's the name was changed to "Hvaldreperne" in an attempt to reflect the all-norwegian origin of the whalekillers team. With the new millenenium and the increasing globalization, the norwegian name was judged too nationalistic and bad for our export figures. Espcecially the growing chinese market had problems with the pronounciation. Subsequently it was decided to adopt the more international "Whalekillers". It was also at that time that we decided to make our web-page in English instead of Norwegian.
